Founded in 1892, Mähler-Besse is a family wine business specializing in fine wines and spirits, in the heart of Bordeaux. It has been promoting the prestige of Cheval Noir wines since it acquired the château in 1937. The result of expert care from vine to bottle, Cheval Noir combines both generosity and authenticity. Hubert de Boüard, owner of Château Angélus, has been consultant for Cheval Noir for the past two years, combining an outstanding level of technical expertise with matchless traditional know-how. The Mähler-Besse family worked with Hubert de Boüard's father in the 1950s at Château Cheval Noir, and thus remains faithful to his name.
